85th Turkey/Oyster Dinner & Bazaar
October 24th from 11am to 7pm
The Annual Dinner and Bazaar is part of Sudley’s Heritage,
and with members, friends, relatives and the community working together,
we can carry on this tradition. We need you! On the bulletin board in
the Fellowship Hall, are sign up sheets for waiters/waitresses, workers
in other areas and turkey cookers. Please sign -up
to help. Below is a Work Week Schedule. Come by one or all days. There
is a job for everyone over 12 years old.
Work schedule for Bazaar Week October
19th through October 27th
Sunday –After 11 o’clock service, we will need “man -power”
help to move pews and furniture.
Monday -
Clean and sanitize kitchen & items to be used on Friday.
Tuesday – 9:00 Turkeys will be delivered to the church.
We need help to prepare turkeys for pickup. 10:30 -12:00
- Turkey
cookers are asked to pick up their “birds”. We will need 50 people to
cook turkeys, so please sign up on the bulletin board. No experience
needed!
Wednesday – 9:00 Cut up celery, bread and onions for
dressing. Please bring your knife and cutting board. You should also
bring non -perishable
items for the Country Store.
Thursday, October 25 – 9:00 – Prepare apples, grapes,
celery, walnuts for Waldorf salad and make dressing. Cooked turkeys
should be returned with juices by 12:00 noon to be sliced. All finishing
touches must be done on the dining room, Country Store, sanctuary,
oyster preparation room and carry -out
room. This is a very busy day and we need your help.
Friday, October 26 – 8:30
- 9:00 Bring baked
goods for Country Store, 11:00 – 7:00 Dinner is served. 8:00pm Minimal
clean up; disbursement of perishables
Saturday, October 27 – 8:00 Don’t forget about clean -up.
We will need a thorough cleaning and to set the church in order for
Sunday services.
As we have done for the past few years, we are inviting all
Law Enforcement Officers, Firemen and Military Personnel in the area to
come to dinner as our guests.
