85th Turkey/Oyster Dinner & Bazaar

October 24th from 11am to 7pm

The Annual Dinner and Bazaar is part of Sudley’s Heritage, and with members, friends, relatives and the community working together, we can carry on this tradition. We need you! On the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall, are sign up sheets for waiters/waitresses, workers in other areas and turkey cookers. Please sign-up to help. Below is a Work Week Schedule. Come by one or all days. There is a job for everyone over 12 years old.

Work schedule for Bazaar Week October 19th through October 27th

Sunday –After 11 o’clock service, we will need “man-power” help to move pews and furniture.

Monday - Clean and sanitize kitchen & items to be used on Friday.

Tuesday – 9:00 Turkeys will be delivered to the church. We need help to prepare turkeys for pickup. 10:30-12:00 - Turkey cookers are asked to pick up their “birds”. We will need 50 people to cook turkeys, so please sign up on the bulletin board. No experience needed!

Wednesday – 9:00 Cut up celery, bread and onions for dressing. Please bring your knife and cutting board. You should also bring non-perishable items for the Country Store.

Thursday, October 25 – 9:00 – Prepare apples, grapes, celery, walnuts for Waldorf salad and make dressing. Cooked turkeys should be returned with juices by 12:00 noon to be sliced. All finishing touches must be done on the dining room, Country Store, sanctuary, oyster preparation room and carry-out room. This is a very busy day and we need your help.

Friday, October 26 – 8:30 - 9:00 Bring baked goods for Country Store, 11:00 – 7:00 Dinner is served. 8:00pm Minimal clean up; disbursement of perishables

Saturday, October 27 – 8:00 Don’t forget about clean-up. We will need a thorough cleaning and to set the church in order for Sunday services.

As we have done for the past few years, we are inviting all Law Enforcement Officers, Firemen and Military Personnel in the area to come to dinner as our guests.
