My name is Tim Blake and I came to Sudley United Methodist Church from Silverbrook United
Methodist Church, where I had been serving since July of 2021. Prior to that I served at Springfield UMC
from 2020 to 2021. I also served at St. James United Methodist Church
as their Assistant Pastor beginning in 2019.
My call to the ministry dates back to 1987, when, during a “Youth Night” Sunday service at Cokesbury
United Methodist Church in Savannah, GA I preached my first sermon. While
it was the youth pastor who asked me to speak, God would use that event to confirm in me a lifelong call
to ministry as a pastor and preacher.
Through the years that have followed, I have served in nearly every facet of church ministry, serving as a
youth pastor, a music minister, singles pastor, Officer Christian Fellowship group leader, men’s group
pastor, associate pastor, interim pastor, church planter, and senior pastor. I am
a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree. I am married to
Devon M.
Blake and have 4 children – Grayson, Gabe, Abigail, and Malcolm.

Eugene Iosilevich, Music Director

Eugene, music director and pianist for Sudley Church, has been involved in church music ministry consistently since 2000, serving as pianist for local churches and chapels throughout his eight years with the Army Band, and from 2008 as music director here at Sudley. His early training was in competitive classical piano which later evolved to include popular and contemporary ensemble styles such as jazz, rock, folk, r+b, funk, reggae, gospel, latin jazz and fusion, which served well to diversify his work with contemporary praise bands. Eugene studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston as well as Syracuse University and the Armed Forces School of Music (Little Creek, VA). His later experiences in the Army, especially during deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, allowed Eugene to witness and be inspired by the sheer power of the Holy Spirit to minister through music as he was tasked to provide music for worship services (for all denominations) in extreme environments where soldiers were often hurting for spiritual nourishment, as well as state-side where families were aching from separation from and loss of deployed loved ones. As a civilian musician and music director, Eugene has kept that passion for both variety in musical styles and, more importantly, for creating a music ministry with a deep spiritual impact on the congregation he serves. Finding his musical and worship home at Sudley Church, and having witnessed firsthand the power of this church to change lives for Jesus Christ, he continues to encourage a creative and inclusive approach to both traditional and contemporary worship, while always building toward a higher musical standard to best honor our Lord as the Sudley Choir and Praise Team. Eugene is married with two sons and resides in Centreville, VA.
